Hello Newman

Wow...I can't believe how long I have neglected this blog...I can give a million excuses as to why but that is just what they would be...excuses. In reality, I have just been lazy about it...probably spend all my free time on Facebook or playing Words with Friends! You know...all the productive things in life :)

Today is a snow day for the kids...over 9 inches of snow...they may even have off tomorrow too. Sophie has not gone a full week of school since Christmas break. She had foot surgery on Dec. 20th and then just as that was healing she fractured said foot in 2 places.

Today is also Lola & Stella's 7th birthday...happy birthday little smelly girls! We will be having pupcakes later!!

Now I am off to help O shovel the driveway...who knows why...it's not like I am going anywhere! :)

This is Sophie's pity post!!

Sophie just discovered my blog...she feels slighted. She thinks she is hardly mentioned at all. So, this one is all about her!!

Sophie just turned 16...doesn't have her permit yet but is supposed to be studying for it. She works at a pet store which is the perfect job for her. She loves animals and is really good with them.

Sophie hates to clean her room and never does all of her laundry. She is the queen of cutting corners. Example: last night I told her to get her stuff off of the dining room table...so she did. This morning I found the stack of stuff on the floor at the top of the stairs. Loop hole...I said get it off the table I never said put it away. Oh teenagers have a way with words!!

She loves to read and will re-read Harry Potter and Twilight over and over!

She provides endless entertainment...her sister can do an amazing imitation of her and it never fails to make me laugh! Thanks Sophie for the comedic relief that I so need!

I hope that this post makes you feel loved...I don't think that you were ever left out but I know how easy you get your feelings hurt. Smile Sophie...this is all about you!!!

May has been a crazy month...we started the month with Soph's 16th bday. My son surprised me with a 2 1/2 week visit...the best Mother's Day gift ever!! My other kids got me a pair of flippy floppies with chocolate labs on them and they sponsered a giraffe for a year at the zoo in my name...so awesome. I really do have some sweet kids! Then we had a dinner party for 14 of B's co-workers. We painted our downstairs so it would look nice and Cory & I cooked mexican food. It turned out to be alot of fun. Next, Chels turned 21...had to have a big party for that...we actually had a party weekend for it. One of my nephews flew in and surprised her for that.

We finish the school year next week and we are all ready for the summer break. Not to sure about vacay plans yet but we are working on it!! I was hoping to go to the beach house with my sis and her family but it's not going to work out this time:(

I'm trying to get my kid's summer reading lists together...any suggestions? I have a few that I want them to read but am always open to any and all recommendations!

Ok...it's official...I cannot keep up with this...so, I'm going to quit feeling bad about it. I will post when I get a chance...hopefully, it will be a little more frequently than it has been.
Last week was spring break for the kids...we still had 2 track meets and practice every other day. But it was nice to sleep in and just hang out.
O had his first orchestra concert tonight...they sounded really good.
I really intended to keep up with the grace in small things but I will also just do this as I can.

1. the power of prayer
2.fresh produce from the farmer's market
3. sunshine
4. homemade pizza
5. hanging with my kids...they are amazing people

grace in small things

This has been a long week. My friend's daughter had a baby 5 weeks ago. She had some complications after her c-section due to Dr. negligence...she has been in the hospital for the past 3 weeks. She has almost died several times. They were sending her home last Monday and then she had a seizure. So back into ICU and a multitude of tests later....still no diagnosis. The baby is absolutely beautiful!! Hopefully, they can find what caused the seizure and get this mama home to her baby soon. We are all praying for her.

1.cuddling a newborn baby right after bathtime
2.working on school projects with my son
3.breakfast out with my hubby
4. the power of prayer
5.a rainy afternoon with nothing to do
